Bayern Munich ended last season empty-handed, their worst finish since Jurgen Klinsmann’s dark reign in 2008-09. But the Bavarian giants are a club of very special standards. Especially next season as Dresen targets a return to the Champions League final at the Allianz Arena.

‘The league title is the fairest title, that’s what Karl-Heinz (Rummenigge) always says and he’s right. We know there are strong competitors and the road to the trophy is always the longest. But that’s our aim, as it is every season. We will not back down from that, that doesn’t suit FC Bayern. ‘

‘It’s a special season for the Champions League. Not only because it’s a new format. But more importantly because the final is being held in Munich again after more than a decade.’

‘Last season we almost reached the final and in 2012 our Wembley generation brought the trophy to our Allianz Arena. Of course our fans dream of another home final, just like us,’ said Dreesen.
