Turkish giants Galatasaray are keen to sign AC Milan’s surplus striker Luka Jovic in January to replace Mauro Icardi, who is out with a serious injury.
Icardi is likely to be out for the rest of the 2024/25 season after suffering an ACL injury in last week’s 3-2 Europa League win over Spurs.
Even though Galatasaray still have Victor Osimhen, a striker on loan from Napoli, as a key player in their hunt for goals and is in good form, the team still needs a new striker to replace Icardi’s absence.
Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport reports that Luka Jovic is one of Galatasaray’s options to sign in the January transfer window.
Jovic has only featured in three of Milan’s Serie A matches this season and is not currently on the club’s UEFA list, which means he is ineligible to feature in the Champions League, aside from the fact that he is currently nursing an injury.
Jovic has made just three appearances for Milan this season. Having been a back-up to Alvaro Morata and Tammy Abraham. While youngster Francesco Camarda has looked set to be handed more credit after making his first league start against Cagliari at the weekend.
Jovic’s contract with Milan Register ufabet expires at the end of the season. So a January move is a possibility and a cheap option for Galatasaray.
